   Cronica is a privacy-focused app that allows you to track your movies and TV shows. We collect minimal data to minimize app crashes and to provide a feedback feature. Rest assured that all the data we collect is fully anonymous and cannot be traced back to you.

2. Data Collection

   2.1 Anonymous Data Collection
   We do not sell or rent your data to any third parties. Furthermore, our app does not contain any advertisements. We believe in keeping your data secure and confidential. The only in-app purchase (IAP) available is an optional donation tip, which helps support the development of the app.
   
   2.2 Data Sync with iCloud
   By default, your data is synced with your private iCloud account. This ensures that your data remains safe and inaccessible to us as app developers. We respect your privacy and do not have access to or visibility into your synced data.
   
   2.3 Aptabase Analytics
   To help us minimize crashes and improve the app's performance, we utilize the Aptabase service, a privacy-first app analytics tool. This service anonymizes the reports we receive, ensuring that all data remains private. The information collected includes:

   • Random User ID: This helps us understand the number of users currently using the app and how many are using the latest version.
   • Device Type: We collect information about the device you're using, such as iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, or Apple TV.
   • OS Version: We collect the version of the operating system you're using.
   • Locale: We collect information about your selected language and country.
   • App Information: We collect data related to the app itself, including the app version, build number, and any relevant reports.
   These reports are only sent when certain events occur, such as when content fails to load, when a user disables certain app functionalities (e.g., transparency background), or when a user makes an IAP donation. This information is solely used to improve the app's functionality and understand user preferences.

3. Data Security

   3.1 TMDB API
   The app's content data is provided by the TMDB API via secure HTTP/S requests. All HTTPS requests are encrypted using SSL/TLS protocols, ensuring the privacy and integrity of the transmitted data.
   
   3.2 Open-Source Project
   Cronica is offered as an open-source project, allowing you to view and contribute to the app's code on GitHub. However, please note that the API Keys are not included in the open-source code for security reasons.
